Clyde & Parramatta Terminals
The Clyde facility has been operating since 1928 initially as a refinery and then from 2012 as a fuel import, storage and distribution terminal. It is adjacent to the Parramatta Terminal, which has been operating since 1964.
Located in the geographical heart of Western Sydney, on the Camellia Peninsula in Rosehill, these two terminals continue to be an important part of the fuel supply chain in New South Wales, supplying a significant portion of the State’s fuel safely and efficiently.
Pipelines transfer fuel products from our Gore Bay Terminal to the Clyde Terminal, and Jet Fuel from Clyde Terminal to Sydney Airport. Fuel products are then loaded in to tankers at the Parramatta Terminal road gantry, to be distributed across metropolitan and regional NSW.
Diesel, Jet Fuel and Gasoline are stored at Clyde Terminal. Parramatta Terminal also has a warehouse and lube oil tank farm for the supply of bulk lubricants.
Clyde Terminal operates as a Major Hazard Facility (MHF) under the New South Wales Work Health and Safety Act 2011.
The Clyde and Parramatta Terminals operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The road gantry section of the Parramatta terminal is operated as a joint facility with BP.

The operations of our Clyde and Parramatta Terminals are subject to the conditions set out in the Environment Protection Licences (EPL 570) and (EPL660) respectively, issued by the NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

We have a comprehensive emergency response plan for Clyde and Parramatta Terminals that involves documented procedures, staff training and maintenance of a hazardous goods register. We conduct regular inter-agency emergency response exercises to test our emergency response plans.
As part of our requirements in NSW, we prepare and publish a Pollution Incident Response Management Plan (PIRMP).

The alarms at Clyde and Parramatta Terminals are a vital way of ensuring that our people on-site respond quickly and safely to an incident.
The alarms are tested at 12 noon every Tuesday.
The Clyde and Parramatta Terminals’ alarms are a vital way of ensuring our on-site personnel respond quickly and safely to an incident. There are two types of alarms:
General Alarm – 30 seconds of intermittent pitch of the alarm (high pitch followed by low muffled pitch).
All clear – 30 seconds of continuous sounding of the siren. This signifies if there is an incident, it is now under control.
An alarm heard any other time means an incident has occurred on site that requires attention by terminal personnel.
The community does not need to take action when an alarm sounds unless instructed otherwise by the Police or Emergency Services.
