Western Area Remediation Project
Following completion of the remaining demolition activities, Viva Energy intends to commence environmental remediation of the Western Area of the site to ensure it meets current standards for Commercial/Industrial land use.
Preliminary Environmental Assessment
Viva Energy has received approval from the Department of Planning and Environment (DP&E) to have the environmental remediation works designated as a State Significant Development (SSD).
A Preliminary Environmental Assessment (PEA) has been prepared which outlines potential impacts the works may have on the community and the environment. This will allow us to commence work on an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
Following the PEA, the DP&E have engaged various government agencies in order to issue the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs) for the project which Viva Energy’s EIS is required to satisfy.
You can view the Preliminary Environmental Assessment and the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements on the DP&E’s website
Environmental Impact Statement
The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is a comprehensive document required as part of the development approvals process, to address potential impacts of the Project.

The community may raise any issues or concerns that they may want addressed as part of the EIS by contacting us as follows:
As part of the consultation process, we will be hosting a Community Information Session in early 2019 where the community can learn more about the proposed remediation works.
