The Geelong Refinery has been an integral part of Geelong since 1954. Over that time, we have focussed strongly on our people, as they are the foundation of the business.
As we recruit much of our workforce locally, we are keen to develop skills and education in the Geelong community. So we work with G-Force Recruitment to offer an apprenticeship training program.
Building capacity is something we also seek to do in our community, with great support from our Community Advisory Panel (CAP) which has helped us to engage with the local community and to understand and help meet community members’ needs.
Through our Community Program Jigsaw, we run a range of community initiatives that support the local Geelong community.
Viva Energy has a long-term national partnership with headspace, the youth mental health foundation. Our contribution will directly support Geelong. Up-to 20 members of the headspace Youth Reference Group will be up-skilled through formal training that will help them share their stories and help others.
Our Northern Futures partnership will help community members most at risk of becoming, or remaining jobless in Geelong’s northern suburbs.
