Local residents attended the third community meeting held on 12 July, 2021.
The focus of the meeting was safety and security, and the discussion addressed safety considerations around LNG, LNG shipping, and the Floating Gas Terminal. Project Manager Rob Mackie talked about the safeguards in place for the proposed terminal, and why Viva Energy is confident that we can build and operate the new facility safely.
Detailed studies and risk assessments are underway to inform project design and safe operation, and results of preliminary risk assessments were discussed.
