Viva Energy Australia Pty Ltd (“Viva Energy”), the exclusive distributor of Shell lubricants in Australia, is delighted to announce Bradley Williams of Winslow Constructors as its Shell Rimula Apprentice of the Year.

The inaugural award is part of a newly formed partnership between Viva Energy and the KANGAN Institute (“KANGAN”) to help train the next generation of Australian automotive and heavy duty diesel technicians.

Bradley was selected by the judges as the student that best role modelled the key attributes of attitude, attendance, performance and aptitude throughout his apprenticeship. In recognition of his efforts Bradley received a $500 Shell Coles Express gift card and will also have the unique experience of spending a weekend with the Shell V-Power Racing Team at the Sandown 500 in September.

Commenting on his win Bradley said; “I’m stoked to have won this award and to be able to share a weekend in the garage with the Shell V-Power Racing Team! The training provided by KANGAN has provided me with the skills to add real value in the workshop. Having Viva Energy and the Shell brand on board is a real bonus as we get to learn from the industry leaders.

“I would also like to thank Winslow for believing in me and for all their support through my apprenticeship. The experience I’ve had over the last couple of years means I can really hit the ground running.”

Presenting the award, Rob Cavicchiolo, Transport Lubricants Sales Manager at Viva Energy said, “It’s a great honour to present this award to someone who has excelled at their apprenticeship and has demonstrated such a remarkable ability to seize every opportunity.

“It’s also very pleasing to see that our partnership with KANGAN is making a real difference in supporting the next generation of mechanics by providing them with the right tools and the most up to date development in lubricant technology.”

Brigit Abdulnour, the Employee Relations Manager at Winslow said, “We are really proud that Bradley has won this award. He is a great worker and is a real role model for us. It’s good to see Shell Rimula supporting these awards, as Bradley uses Shell products day-to-day, and to learn more about it at KANGAN through his training can only help.”

Through the partnership, formed in October 2017, Viva Energy offers KANGAN apprentices unparalleled access to technical experts in automotive lubrication, development opportunities through formal training in the use of world-class products, access to Shell Global Expert forums and the Shell V-Power Supercars Team, and ongoing technical assistance through a Docklands-based team. The partnership also provides Viva Energy with access to KANGAN’s industry leading facilities at the Automotive Centre of Excellence, including their world class heavy duty diesel dyno facility to test and prove lubricant solutions that deliver savings to customers in the real world.
