Safe operations at sea and in port

Viva Energy relies on a variety of ships and barges to deliver products to our terminals and other facilities within our supply chain. To ensure that the vessels we use are safe, we apply strict ship vetting procedures including Vessel Clearance through a ship assessment vetting process, SIRE Inspections conducted by our approved SIRE Inspectors, and Structural Assurance for older vessels.

  • Before any vessel can be accepted for use by Viva Energy Australia it must be vetted to ensure that it’s of suitable quality.

  • Viva Energy Australia is a full member of Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and we conduct our SIRE Inspections following the oil industry standard OCIMF SIRE Inspection format.

The specialised Viva Energy Australia Marine Vetting Group is based in Melbourne, Australia and receives and processes all SIRE Inspection requests. We endeavour to respond to all requests as quickly as possible.
