The event was part of a project to demolish and remove redundant refining infrastructure, as well as other works to improve the operational capability of Viva Energy Australia’s Clyde Terminal, which currently supplies about 40% of NSW’s fuel needs.

It took five attempts to fell the fifth “stubborn stack”. As the footage shows the first four came down safely and precisely as planned.
