  1. I’ve worked at Viva Energy since 2016 (after returning from the Middle East with Shell).
  2. My first job was as a Business Analyst.
  3. My role is as a Planning and Commercial Manager.
  4. I help people reach their destination by ensuring we have the right Lubricant products at the right locations and at the right time for our customers through strategic and commercial partnerships.
  5. The best part of my job is its diverse nature. I am responsible for demand forecasts, planning and replenishment activities, portfolio management, Viva Energy’s commercial relationship with Shell and its suppliers, and ownership of the Lubricants pricing tools.
  6. I was led to this career by attending a talk by Shell during the last year of university. I was so impressed by the diverse opportunities that the company could offer.
  7. I prefer to start the day by eating breakfast whilst going through my emails and preparing my to-do list for the day.
  8. I prefer to end the day by sweating it out with exercise. I believe that a healthy balance exists between time and effort spent working, and time spent with home, family and personal pursuits.
  9. I am energised by the fact that Viva Energy is aiming to increase female representation across the organisation, especially in non-traditional areas. There is more to do in this area but I believe that Viva Energy is taking the right steps in the right direction.
  10. The one behavior I attribute my success to is my drive – the determination to work harder and smarter to make sure things get done. I believe success doesn’t happen by accident or luck, you need to have the desire to succeed and the willingness to learn and do what it takes.
  11. The one thing that surprises me about working at Viva Energy is how people are empowered to make decisions quickly.
  12. The most funny moment I had at work was when my grandma thought that I was a service station attendant because I worked for Shell. She was quite concerned with the job hazards that presented working on the forecourts, especially being exposed to the weather!
  13. The biggest mistake I made early on in my career was thinking I could do it all on my own. I learned that it is important to have and leverage a great team in order to achieve the outcomes we need and to ask for support/help when necessary.
  14. The greatest career advice I was given was that some rejections are blessings in disguise. In other words, when one door closes, another one opens. Learn from it and move on.
  15. The most important skill every person should have is learning how to learn. Skills required in the workplace are always changing, we need to learn how to learn to keep up to date.
  16. How do you see this role evolving over the next 5 years? It will be about leveraging existing capabilities and focusing on opportunities that aim at value capture and competitiveness.
  17. Early bird or night owl? Definitely night owl, although my definition of late night has changed over the years. I now start to feel sleepy by 9pm!
