Our Business

Indigenous Participation Plan

We are an Australian business and recognise our country’s indigenous heritage.

We are committed to working meaningfully with people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage to provide opportunities through direct business policies that influence five key areas.

  1. Employment & Development
  2. Procurement
  3. Product
  4. Community Support
  5. Employee Engagement

This program will be driven by an Indigenous Advisory Group, comprising people from across our organisation guided by an indigenous expert.

Goods & Services

Wherever it’s commercially viable and meets quality expectations, we’ll use our procurement processes and purchasing power to support social enterprises and local organisations, both indigenous and non-indigenous. As a specific example our Geelong refinery employs Karingal Kommercial, an Australian disability social enterprise, to run its staff café and provide gardening services.

Training & Education

We offer apprenticeships and training opportunities across a range of career disciplines, including more than 10 apprenticeships at our Geelong Refinery each year. A number of our apprentices have come to us through Northern Futures, our Geelong Partner.
